The Piece in Detail

Few marbles are as unmistakable as Nero Portoro: deep black with golden-yellow veins, quarried on the Ligurian coast and laid in palaces for centuries. As an iPhone case it becomes a piece of jewellery. The stone is cut wafer-thin and polished to a high gloss – cool and smooth under the fingers – and sits on a lightweight carrier layer, surrounded by a Bayer TPU frame that absorbs shocks and protects the display. Alcantara lines the inside.

Around 40 grams light, charges wirelessly, MagSafe as an optional add-on. Available for iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, the iPhone 17 family including Air, every iPhone 16 and back to iPhone 13. Marble from Antolini, Verona – finished in our workshop in Mönchengladbach.

Stone & Origin

Nero Portoro is quarried on the Ligurian coast near Portovenere, where the quarries sit directly above the sea. Its name comes from gold: the yellow veins are iron-bearing deposits that look like liquid metal in the black. Since the Baroque it has adorned churches and palaces all the way to Versailles, and because the deposits are small, it remains one of the most expensive marbles in Italy to this day.

Polished to a high gloss, it reveals its full depth. We source it from Antolini in Verona.

Protection & Fit

Real stone on the back, framed by a shock-absorbing bumper. Camera, buttons and ports stay fully accessible, and wireless charging works right through the case.
Care

Stone is easy to look after: a drop of Stone Cleaner on a soft cloth and the surface is clean again. Polished stone regains its depth with Marble Polish, while slate stays naturally matte. Care guide
