Stein-Pass / Stone Passport

An ID
for a piece of stone.

Every piece we make gets its passport. No extra, no surcharge, no sign-up. It says which stone it is, where it comes from, who cut and inspected it, and who it belongs to.

Sample passport · fictional data

01

What is it?

An ID for exactly one piece of stone. Your veneer was cut from a block that exists only once. The passport records which stone it is, where it comes from, which slab it became and who cut, assembled and inspected it, with date and signature. Plus your name and city as the holder.

You receive it as an image in the shipping email, as a PDF and in your customer account as soon as your piece has passed final inspection. Nothing to do on your side.

02

What’s inside.

Tap the dots.

  1. Passport numberStone code and running number, for example VAL-0042. Every piece has its own. It is not on the invoice, only on the passport.
  2. Your stoneThe photo shows the stone your veneer comes from. Not some sample, this block. More about Verde Alpi
  3. Name, stone type, originVerde Alpi, marble, Italy. Where the stone comes from before it landed on our bench.
  4. Veneer numberThe slab sitting in your piece. It exists exactly once, and it is recorded here.
  5. Cut, assembly, inspectionThree steps, three dates, the names of the people who did it. All in Germany.
  6. Signature of inspectionWhoever held your piece last signs it. Not printed, by hand.
  7. Holder and homeYour name and your city. If you give the piece away, we reissue the passport to the new holder.
  8. HologramThe ROXXLYN seal. Plus the security pattern of small logos across the whole passport.
  9. Machine-readable zoneLike in a real passport: two lines with check digits, computed from stone, number, holder and object. If one digit is off, the passport is not genuine.
  10. QR code, field 14Scan it and the verification page opens with your passport number. Anyone can see within seconds that the passport is genuine. Including whoever gets the piece from you later.

03

Real.
No print.
We stand for that.

Many only believe it once they hold it: this is stone. No photo, no print, no foil. We cut natural stone as thin as a credit card. Some stones become flexible, others stay rough and grippy, others we polish to a high gloss. Every piece is different because the stone is different.

The Stone Passport is our certificate for that. This stone, this origin, this veneer, cut and inspected in Germany, with signature. We certify what we sell and put our names to it.

The Stone Passport is also a promise: what you get from us is real, and it is the original. Stone on a case is offered in many places these days, as a print, as a foil, as an imitation. We have worked with real stone from the start, and that is exactly why authenticity should be recognisable. The passport is the difference anyone can verify.

  • Thin as a credit cardNatural stone, cut so it fits on a case.
  • Flexible to high-glossSlate flexes, marble shines, quartzite sparkles. Every surface is the stone’s own.
  • One of a kindTwo veneers from the same block look alike, they are never identical.

04

Is this nonsense?

If all you want is a case: yes. Then the passport sits in your account and stays out of the way.

It is for those who want to know what they have. And it is the reason we can give you a replacement if your stone breaks: we know exactly which stone it was.

05

What can I do with it?

I

Prove it

Passport number, veneer number, origin, workshop steps, inspector. Show it when someone asks whether the stone is real.

II

Get a replacement if it breaks

12 months from delivery, drops included. Three photos, the same model made again in the same type of stone, at half price. Once per passport.

III

Give it away or pass it on

The passport is reissued to the new holder, marked “A gift from …”. The stone changes hands, its story stays.

IV

Everything about your stone in one place

The journey through the workshop with photos, the passport as PDF, care and fitting. Collected in your account, even with several pieces.

06

Breakage cover,
clearly defined.

Stone lives. Scratches and patina are part of it. A break is not.

How long
12 months from delivery, for all purchases made on or after 15 September 2026. Voluntary and in addition to the statutory warranty; the details are in Section 9.5 of our Terms.
What you get
The same model in the same type of stone, made again, at half price plus shipping. Once per passport; the replacement has no claim of its own.
Why half price
A drop can happen to anyone, and we don’t leave you alone with it. We carry half, you carry the other half. If the replacement were free, everyone would pay for it in the price, including those whose stone never breaks. This way the price stays fair and the promise stays honest.
What you do
Three photos via your piece’s journey page: on the device from the front, the break up close, the piece next to a note with passport number and date. Plus two sentences on how it happened.
If we are unsure
We ask for a short video. Within the EU also for the piece itself; we cover the return shipping then.
Who decides
We do, by hand, within 48 hours, with reasons. The replacement is a promise to honest customers, not a vending machine.

This is a break

  • A crack running through the whole slab.
  • A piece of stone is missing.
  • The slab is in pieces.
  • Also after a drop. No matter how it happened.

This is character

  • Scratches, patina, discolouration from hands and pockets.
  • Small chips at edges and layers. Slate is made of many layers, a flake comes off now and then. Normal.
  • Veins, hairlines and inclusions the stone has had from the start. With marble they are part of it.
  • A stone that looks different over time than on day one. That is the proof it is real.

07

How you get it.

  1. 1You order.Every piece, every stone, also with Custom Tailoring.
  2. 2We make and inspect.Cut, assembly, final inspection with signature in Germany.
  3. 3The passport comes to you.As an image in the shipping email, as a PDF and in your account. Done.

08

Verify a passport.

Got a piece second-hand or want to know whether a passport is genuine? Enter the number.

The answer names stone, object and issue date, never the holder.

09

Questions.

Does the passport cost anything?

No. Never. It belongs to the piece.

Since when, and for Etsy purchases too?

Every piece bought on or after 15 September 2026 has a passport, including Etsy purchases: the passport belongs to the piece, not the shop. It only appears in the customer account for purchases on roxxlyn.com.

I have several pieces.

Then you have several passports, each with its own number, all in your account.

Can I lose the passport?

No. It is kept with us and in your account; you can download the PDF again at any time.

What about scratches?

Stone lives. Scratches and patina are not a break and not a case for replacement. They are the proof that it is stone.

Do I have to register?

No. The passport is issued with your order. A customer account is handy, but not required.

Every piece has one.
