A personalized iPhone case usually means a name printed on plastic. Ours means your name on real stone. Every ROXXLYN case carries a veneer of marble, slate, quartzite or lapis lazuli, made by hand in Germany, and in the configurator you can add your name, initials or signature with a UV print directly on the stone. This guide covers how it works, what you can choose, how to design it well and what to expect in daily use.
What is UV printing on stone?
With UV printing, the ink is applied straight onto the veneer and cured instantly with UV light. It hardens into a fine layer on the surface. The grain of the stone stays visible and becomes part of the image, so your name does not sit on a blank background but on a piece of stone whose veining exists only once.
Engraved phone case? Here is the difference
Many people search for an engraved phone case. To be clear: personalisation on our cases and skins is a UV print, not an engraving. Engraving is only available on the Fusion Snap for iPhone Duo, where the Apple logo can be engraved into the stone or your initials placed inside the aluminium, where only you know they are.
Custom name phone case: your options
- Text or file upload: Type your text right in the configurator, such as a name, initials or a date. Or upload your own file: a signature, a monogram, a crest, a company logo or an entire artwork.
- Satin or gloss: Choose whether the print looks satin or glossy. There is also a "gloss only" option for an especially understated effect.
- Raised up to 2 mm: On some pieces the print can be built up to 2 mm high, so you don't just see your name, you feel it under your fingertips.

How to personalize your case in the configurator
- Pick your case: Start with our iPhone cases for iPhone 13 up to 18 Pro Max, including iPhone Air. Or choose a Case Pro for iPhone 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, where you select your exact veneer and one of five frame colours.
- Add UV print: Select UV print among the extras.
- Type your text or upload your file: You see straight away how your design looks on the stone, before you order.
- Choose the finish: Satin, gloss or gloss only, and raised where available.
Your case is then made by hand in our workshop in Germany.
Design tips for a name on stone
Contrast: dark stone, light stone
On dark stones such as Nero Marquina marble or Black Rock slate, a light design reads clearly and calmly. On light stones such as Invisible Grey or Arabescato Orobico, a dark design sets the accent. Keep in mind that the grain plays along: strong veins can visually cross fine lines. If you are still unsure which stone suits your design, the Stone Finder helps you choose.
Keep it small and subtle
The stone is the main event. A name, initials or a signature usually looks best when it stays small and the stone remains visible all around it, like the signature beneath a painting. A slim typeface and a few characters tend to look more refined on stone than large lettering.
Start with a clean file
For uploads, the cleaner the source, the sharper the print. Write your signature with a dark pen on white paper and scan it at high resolution. Logos work best with a transparent background.
How durable is the print?
An honest answer: the stone is forever. The print is for your everyday. The cured UV ink bonds firmly to the surface, but it sits on the stone rather than in it. A case that travels in pockets and bags and lands on tables every day can show signs of use on the print over time, especially where it rubs most. That is part of a piece that gets used. If the print has a defect from production, it is covered by the statutory warranty. For care, a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth is all you need; avoid harsh cleaners.

A case with a name is a gift that is held every single day. Ideas: a partner's initials, a wedding date, a child's handwriting, a family crest. Every piece is one of a kind and comes with its own Stone Passport, with its own number, the origin of the stone and 12 months of breakage cover from delivery in addition to the statutory warranty.
