An AirTag case has a simple job: to keep Apple's tracker attached to the things you would rather not lose. The choice still matters more than it seems, because the case decides how securely the AirTag hangs on your keys, how it copes with everyday life and what you see every time you reach for your keychain. This guide explains what to look for in an AirTag case – fastening, protection, material – and why a case with a veneer of genuine stone makes a small gift that lasts. Every ROXXLYN AirTag case is made by hand in Germany: a housing of CNC-milled aluminium with a veneer of marble, slate or lapis lazuli.
What an AirTag case is for: keys, bag, luggage
The AirTag itself is a smooth disc without an eyelet. On its own it slides around at the bottom of a bag or ends up forgotten in a pocket. An AirTag keychain gives it a fixed place:
- Keys: the classic. The case hangs on your key ring, so you can locate your keys in the Find My app.
- Bag and backpack: clipped to a strap or an inner loop, the AirTag goes wherever the bag goes.
- Luggage: on the handle of a suitcase or holdall, it shows you where your luggage is while you travel.
Think about where the AirTag will spend most of its time. A case that rides on a heavily used key ring has different demands than one that stays in a suitcase most of the year.
Fastening: carabiner and magnetic closure
All four ROXXLYN AirTag cases follow the same principle. The AirTag sits in a housing milled from aluminium that closes with a magnet – on the Nero Marquina version, the magnet is invisible. Attached to the housing is a carabiner in zinc alloy with a grey finish. You clip it onto a key ring, a bag strap or a suitcase handle and unclip it again in seconds, without wrestling with a split ring.
Whichever AirTag holder you choose, check three things:
- The closure: a housing that encloses the AirTag holds it more neatly than an open clip or a simple loop.
- Switching: a carabiner makes it easy to move the AirTag from keys to bag to luggage.
- The look: a grey carabiner on a matt black housing sits calmly next to most keys and leather.
Protection: what to expect from a stone AirTag case
The AirTag's glossy surface picks up scratches quickly when it rubs against keys and coins. In a closed aluminium housing it is no longer exposed to that daily contact, and the stone faces outwards instead.
Be realistic, though: the veneer is genuine stone, 0.8–1.2 mm thin on a flexible carrier layer. Like any natural stone, it can chip if it strikes a hard edge with force. That is why every piece comes with a Stone Passport: its own number, the origin of the stone and 12 months of breakage cover from delivery, in addition to the statutory warranty.
The surface also plays a role. Polished marble feels cool and smooth, but tends to show traces of daily use sooner. Natural, split slate stays matt and grippy – the relaxed choice for a key ring that is constantly in and out of your pocket.
Why stone and aluminium?
Most AirTag holders are made of leather, silicone or plastic. A luxury AirTag holder in stone and metal works differently: the aluminium, milled from solid and anodised matt black, provides precision and keeps the case light, while the stone gives each piece its own character. The pattern is not printed but has grown in the rock, so no two cases are alike. The photos show an example – the grain of your piece will be different.
The four stones
- AirTag Case · Black Rock: natural slate, matt, with a tangible layered texture that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. The case weighs next to nothing.
- AirTag Case · Nero Marquina: deep black marble with white veins, mirror-polished, cool and smooth. The marble comes from Antolini in Verona.
- AirTag Case · Nero Portoro: golden-yellow veins on a deep black ground, polished to a high gloss – also from Antolini in Verona.
- AirTag Case · Lapis Lazuli: deep blue with golden pyrite inclusions, ground and polished until the blue seems to glow from within.
You will find all four side by side in our AirTag cases collection.
An AirTag case as a small gift
An AirTag case is one of the easiest gifts to get right. There is no device model to find out and no size to guess; all the recipient needs is an AirTag. And unlike many small gifts, it does not disappear into a drawer – it hangs on the keys and is used every day.
- Personal: initials, a short text or a logo can be added via UV print in the configurator. For the AirTag case, we can also cut your own logo straight out of the stone.
- Something to tell: the Stone Passport names the origin of the stone, which turns the gift into a small story.
- Timing: orders usually leave our workshop within 1–3 working days, and the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies.

Care in brief
Wipe the stone with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. That is all a stone AirTag case needs.
