Introducing the Marble: Nero Marquina

Nero Marquina is one of the most sought-after natural stones in Spain. A material that carries centuries of art and architectural history, which satisfies the longing for naturalness and uniqueness. This black marble can be admired in buildings all over the world. Nero Marquina is mined in the Spanish towns of Aulestia and Marquina. The elegant appearance of Nero Marquina is characterized by its fine streak.

Over thousands of years, a combination of calcium carbonate and calcium-laden constituents has developed into a hard natural stone. The special black coloring of Nero Marquina is due to the natural accumulation of bitumen. The white quartz veins were subsequently formed in the rock. Existing fractures in the rock were “healed” by quartz crystallization and the Nero Marquina got its present appearance.
The fine, white veins in the otherwise black stone structure make this stone particularly attractive. It unfolds an exclusive atmosphere with a polished or sanded surface and radiates luxury.
